I voted on Friday night. For President.
I went downtown, looking for City Hall.
I couldn’t find it. For those of you who know me, that should come as absolutely no surprise. Even though City Hall is supposidely a building that stands out. With scaffolding, etc.
So, I drove aimlessly around downtown Milwaukee. I happened upon a building with a big sign outside.
“Vote Here”. Hmmm. What was this?
As it turns out, that was the Frank Ziedler building. It is a city run building. And I could legally vote there. Who knew that I’d just happen upon a legitimate voting building??!
I followed the tape on the floor that directed me to the voting area. I arrived at the correct place, and was directed to the right line.
Looking around me, I noticed that I was a minority. Nobody who was voting early was white.
Granted the city of Milwaukee has a higher non white than white population. But traditionally, minority populations tend to vote less often than their white counterparts.
Looks like there’s some excitement around this campaign.
Keep your fingers crossed.
